In UML, a state in a state diagram ican have events that are handled by actions within the state, without ever leaving the state. Those events and actions appear in a compartment under the state name compartment:

You can edit events of a state within a diagram by clicking on the compartment (even if it's empty). When you do, the event editing dialog will appear, as described below. States can also be edited via their Detail Pages. The Detail Page for a state contains an Events button:

When you click either button, the event editing dialog will appear:

This dialog contains the following controls:

Click this button to add the event and action from the Event
Field to the Event List.
:
This button opens a form to let you edit the selected event and action.
:
Select an event in the Event List and press this button to move it up
within the list.
:
Select an event in the Event List and press this button to move it
down within the list.
:
Select an event in the Event List and press this button to delete it
from the list.
