The splitter is the bar that lies between the Model Tree and the Content Pane. Like in many applications, you can click on the splitter and drag to make the Model Tree larger and the Content Pane smaller (or vice versa). In Tablet UML, the splitter is larger and more visible so that it's easier to drag with the pen.
